Boxing as a tool for change
Exercising our body every day is of really important, not only for our physical health but also for our mental health. There are plenty of gyms around the world that offer to help us stay in shape, however, they do not include a social cause as their corporate mission. This is the case of Alberto Ortiz, owner of Work Train Fight and CEO of Youth Boxing for Change, who has decided to implement boxing and physical training as a tool to empower people and develop a sense of social responsibility in the young ones.
Alberto, who grew up south of the Bronx neighborhood in New York where domestic violence is just around the corner, decided to implement a strategy that would help change his social environment. The result was the creation of Work Train Fight, a physical training facility that helps those who not only want to stay in shape but also those who seek to empower their body and mind. But Alberto wanted to go the extra mile, so he created Youth Boxing for Change, a program that focuses on the teenage population. Its main goal is to empower teenagers to create a change in their communities, always having as their pillars social responsibility and serving.
Within this program, Alberto and his team promote in young people the physicality of boxing, service and leadership opportunities to implement an atmosphere of acceptance and inclusion that will not only benefit the young ones but also their respective communities.
Alberto partners with Visionarium to provide our participants with his knowledge and expertise in these two fields, physical conditioning and social responsibility.
