From Wall Street to Finhabits

At Visionarium, we want to surround you with people who don't just share their success, but give you the tools to reach it.

That's why your week in New York is full of conversations with professionals who offer some of the best examples of leadership and entrepreneurship the city — and the world — has to offer.

This time, we want to introduce you to Carlos García, one of Visionarium 2017's guests and partners.

Carlos Armando García describes himself as "proudly Latino" — a blend of two cultures, having split his education between El Paso, Texas, where he was born, and Juárez, Mexico, where his parents are from.

After graduating high school, he was accepted into MIT, one of the most prestigious universities in the world, where he studied electrical engineering and computer science.

He later moved into finance, working as a risk and asset manager. Carlos has held several roles across the finance world, but his real passion is giving back to his community.

That's why, after nearly a decade on Wall Street, he and a group of friends created Project Paz, a nonprofit that raises funds to open after-school arts programs in Juárez for Mexican children affected by the violence of the drug conflict.

Today, Carlos is the founder and CEO of Finhabits, a company he started in 2015 after seeing the economic struggles and distrust many people have toward financial institutions. Finhabits is a platform built to make investing accessible to everyone — and the first investment company to offer its service in Spanish.

Beyond building a company, García's purpose is to help his users build the habit of investing in their own future.

Carlos has every quality of a visionary — and everything it takes to help you become one too.
