The label that dressed Michelle Obama

Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs met in New York while studying Fashion Design at Parsons School of Design, where they stood out by winning first and second place at the Parsons Designer of the Year Award in 2007, and through their extensive experience interning at brands like Marc Jacobs and Oscar de la Renta. Just before graduating, they landed the cover of Women's Wear Daily, showcasing their final collections.

A year after receiving their diplomas, they joined forces and creativity to launch Cushnie et Ochs — the label where they share not just a last name, but a love of dressing well. Based in New York, the brand is known for celebrating a woman's silhouette without sacrificing elegance.

Carly and Michelle set out to push fashion's boundaries, building collections where a woman's sensual side meets a minimalist, elegant style. Their designs, built around a precise fit and clean lines, aim to redefine femininity.

Since founding the label in 2008, Cushnie et Ochs has shown nine runway collections. Their proposal — classic yet bold — has found real success in the market: today you'll find their pieces in stores like Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. Their designs have been worn by actresses like Salma Hayek and Reese Witherspoon, as well as by former First Lady Michelle Obama, who wore them to several presidential events.

Their drive to innovate, and their passion and determination, have made Cushnie et Ochs a globally recognized name. Carly and Michelle are members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and were named to Forbes' 30 Under 30 list, in the Art & Style category.
