Soccer as an engine for equality

Today being a woman is not the same as it was a few years ago, with time we have achieved great things that make us what we are today. A tireless group of fighters whose voices are heard louder and in different parts of the world. But there are still many goals that we must reach, and for that, we must remain united and support each other. This is the initiative that Eglantina Zingg has taken.

Through Proyecto Paz y Goleadoras, Zingg seeks to combat violence, poverty, and lack of opportunities by promoting instead empowerment, inclusion and gender equality on girls in some countries of Latin America, such as Haiti, Mexico, Venezuela, and Colombia. But how does she do it?

"My grandmother once told me: 'The only way to make your dreams come true is through a lot of discipline.' Soccer gave me that discipline from an early age, it makes you strong, determined, goal-oriented and a team player." Zingg affirmed in an interview with Carmen Busquests.

That's right, soccer is the secret ingredient because according to Zingg, it is a practice that requires assertiveness without violence and helps with the development of skills such as control and the sense of physical space. According to Goleadoras' website, this sport helps promote patience and perseverance while players improve their physical conditioning; it also manages to promote teamwork and grants a balance of creativity and discipline.

Eglantina Zingg partners with Visionarium to empower our participants and tell them about the importance of helping others. Join Visionarium today and live this amazing and enriching experience. Registration open for our next session in New York City. Sign up here.
